O’Hare High Temperature Water (HTW) Generator

Overview

What is a HTW generator? It’s a hot water boiler, generating high pressure and high temperature. The HTW generator system at O’Hare is responsible for providing space heating and domestic hot water to the majority of the airport’s campus.

The original generators were installed between 1969 and 1988 and the City of Chicago is replacing the generators at a cost of $60 million. Chicago Ornamental is providing the backbone infrastructure to on this project.
